NASA has detailed information about WASP-69b, an exoplanet that has an unusual characteristic: it displays a gaseous tail similar to that of a comet. Discovered in 2014, it is a very hot gas giant that is losing hydrogen and helium from its outer atmosphere. The stellar wind from the host star shapes these gases into a long structure that extends at least 7.5 times the radius of the planet.
