20I've been playing as an aggressive sniper recently in Planetside 2, something that is far from new to me due to all my years of playing as a sniper in different fps games. But Planetside 2 is different, and I'm now trying to find a combination when it comes to a bolt action sniper, attachments and scope, that works well for this purpose! In this video I'm playing as an aggressive infiltrator sniper, putting myself into close quarter situations. I've now unlocked the LA-80, that alongside with the SAS-R sniper is my favourite at the moment!
PlanetSide 2 is a free-to-play massively multiplayer online first-person shooter developed by Rogue Planet Games and published by Daybreak Game Company. The game supports battles with thousands of players (up to 2,000 on a single map) and incorporates modern first-person shooter mechanics. Six different infantry classes and over 18 ground and air vehicles are available to players and interact on the battlefield to simulate combined arms warfare. As a "re-imagining" of PlanetSide, PlanetSide 2 chronicles the efforts of three factions fighting for territorial control of the planet Auraxis.
Along with its prequel, PlanetSide 2 is one of the very few massively multiplayer online first-person shooters to have ever released, and is presently considered one of the most successful titles in the genre. The game uses ForgeLight, a proprietary game engine which supports high player counts while retaining performance and graphical fidelity. PlanetSide 2 operates on a games as a service business model and is supported by microtransaction purchases. Since its launch, the game has received regular updates which have introduced new content and mechanics.
PlanetSide 2 received positive attention from critics, and was praised for its scale, innovation, and graphics, but some reviewers were divided over the game's free-to-play model, technical glitches, and difficulty for new players. PlanetSide 2 currently holds the Guinness World Record for "Most players in an online FPS battle," which was set when 1,158 players were recorded in a single battle during an official event. This record was beat unofficially in 2020 when 1,283 players participated in a single battle on the game's live servers.
Infiltrator
Infiltrators, as part of their classes' niche, have the most numerous and most effective ways of cloaking. All three of their class abilities allow the Infiltrator to cloak, with varying benefits and disadvantages compared to eachother.
-Hunter Cloaking Device — The most versatile infiltrator cloak. It has good recharge time and duration, though provides no other benefits.
-Nano-Armor Cloaking — The combat infiltrator cloak. Duration is shorter and recharge time is longer, though the infiltrator is far stronger in direct combat as well as tankier when cloaked.
-Stalker Cloak — The slow-paced infiltrator cloak. Duration is potentially infinite, as recharge time continues when cloaked if stationary, however the infiltrator becomes far weaker in direct combat as they lose their primary weapon.
Campaign Standing (Distant Shores).png Icon VS.png Hermes Cloaking — A mobility-focused cloak. Duration is shorter and recharge time is longer, but the infiltrator sprints considerably faster while cloaked and receives reduced fall damage.
