341►What is the BEST faction to play in Planetside 2?? CHOOSING YOUR FACTION: Whether it be the Vanu, Terran Republic, or the New Conglomerate! This video is more of a guide for NEW players who haven't played Planetside 2 before... we will be going over things on how to pick your faction to help new players who want to play Planetside, but are unsure of what faction to choose from!

►This video reflects my opinions and is really just some general information for beginners who want an opinion on how to approach picking a faction to play. I am in no way trying to get into balancing of the factions as that would take forever to get through and is honestly best saved for another video. If you're looking for the faction that is the most "powerful" I would like to say that all the factions are (in my opinion) viable and the game is so massive that all of the factions have weapons that cater to almost every playstyle. It is up to you to try out each faction to see what suits you the best, be that for aesthetic reasons, weapon handling reasons, population reasons, theme, etc. I would also like to add that a good number of weapons are shared by the different factions, just different names (like, one of the best sniper rifles has a name for each of the 3 factions, same stats, just different name and skin)
►For those who want some more detailed info, Migs from the Planetside 2 forums came up with a short summary blurb of some of his opinions and highlights as to what he thinks are the strong points of each faction:
"TR
Good:
- Trac-5(LA + Engi) and Carv (HA) as starter weapons
- MSWR is a great LMG (HA) for 325 certs
- Harasser /w Vulcan is fun
*Faction seems the least "Special" mainly because the guns don't feel special at all + "Meh" MBT (boxy + rounds alpha split in 2)
NC
Good:
- Mercenary (LA + Engi) is a nice weapon
- Great MAX for niche play (CQC shotguns + long range AV(2000 cert investment))
- Easy to use MBT (Higby/iWin shield + Starter heat that hits like a AP round)
- Best starter infiltrator sniper (650 dmg /w 2.1x Headshot mult with 6-12x scopes)
- Best SMG options
*Gauss Saw is hard to use for beginners + the high alpha low ROF of most NC weapons punishes those with bad accuracy
VS
Good:
- Orion as starter HA weapon (Even though recently nerfed)
- Outfits in general feel more on-point and friendly
- Best mid-range max (Blueshifts (2000 cert investment))
- Hover tank with booster at the expense of mortar shell arc (picture rainbows, thats your shell arc)
- Guns in general are more accurate than other factions
- ESF (empire specific fighter) Basic aircraft is really maneuverable and can hover easier than other factions ESFs
*No bullet drop as a faction trait (Even though not on sniper rifles, and most combat is at ranges bullet drop doesn't matter) nothing really special other than what I've said
This is all opinion of course, and I've played every faction to BR 50+ so I have at least a modicum of experience"
