Plantation Bay Breakfast: Part 1
3CEBU 2023: PLANTATION BAY BREAKFAST, PART 1
Documented the Plantation Bay Resort Cebu, buffet breakfast theme. We arrived on Monday night, local time, our breakfast started Tuesday the 15th of August. I wasn't keen on the Italian theme, however, I was made up to see some Filipino cuisine offered. I was up for anything seafood dish.
Day 2 was Manhattan Theme, the smoke salmon on a bagel was nice but I love the mashed potatoes, with steak slices topped with mustard and the mushroom gravy was a perfect combo to go with it. As a freelance baker myself, I wasn't keen on the red velvet cookies, maybe of the jetlag tiredness and change of my taste bud. The New York Cheesecake, I find its too "cinnamony" for me. The cinnamon sort of covered the taste of the cheesecake itself. I love cheesecake, and I prefer to taste the cheesecake filling more than the base.
Day 3 was Mexican Theme, I like the little serving portions offered. Before we arrived at Kilimanjaro Restaurant (the place for the buffet breakfast every morning), when I saw on the notice board about Mexican breakfast, I got my expectations of taco, fajitas and burritos. Of course, I can understand that some dish has to be catered to what is likely to be eaten. I wasn't keen on the mini fajitas or quesadillas, a bit too cold and hard for me. However, I did like the mashed beans, spicy sausage, Mexican rice and chili con carne.
Day 4 was Filipino Theme "A", I labelled it as "A" because, the resort offered two sets or types of Filipino Theme breakfast. I went crazy for Day 4, I was stuffed to the brim. I ate food that I have not eaten in a long time or can't make it at home :) lol. Yes! eating dried fish in front of my boys was so heavenly joyful :) And I am proud to say that my boys did tried some Filipino dish and delicacies. I think their favourite is the Cebu mango.
