I had heard that even modern computers had trouble emulating the PS3 because of something about the system's architecture. But I found RPCS3 (emulator) available right on the Steam Deck, and I downloaded a Katamari Forever ROM easily off Vimm's Lair, and to my surprise the game seems to work great on Steam Deck.

My level performance is decidedly not great, and neither is the video resolution, sorry. And the Steam Deck seems to have to work pretty hard to play the game (loud fan). But it's fun to come back to a classic katamari game that I hadn't played in a long time, of course.

I remember well a lot of my favorite stages appearing late in KF (MAS4, MAS8, Moon, Schloss Kosmos and especially ALAP5), but there is a whole lot about Katamari Forever that I totally don't remember. Like the cutscene that appeared in this video, I don't recognize that at all. And I totally forgot that in the King's Cosmos objects don't become colorful until you roll one up. I guess the King doesn't remember the objects until you roll them up.
