I've set myself some parameters to create this series.
They will always be composed, filmed and transcribed by me, in one day.
There will be a new key for each video following the pattern - C, A, G, E, D
I plan to always film them sitting on a bench, but this series is rapidly becoming an inside only affair until the weather improves! (-2 today)

This is the 15th study! The third in D.
This means I have been through the word CAGED three times now in this series.
Playing notes and influences:
There's a blues rock angle to this one. Power blues players like Joe Bonamassa tend to use this kind of trick when in a dropped D situation. It's also reminiscent of Lindsey Buckingham in places - think 'The Chain'
The main device used in the piece is the open low D string played against a fretted D on the 5th fret A string and the open D string - this triples the D! Strengthening the impact of that note, particularly with the slides in and out.
I've recycled my implied 7 chords from the previous study too for the G and A chords.
Right hand:
For the main riff I have used a combination of downstrokes with the forefinger on beats 2 and 4 (back beat) and some more conventional finger style playing for the G and A chords.
There are some natural harmonics at the start and end, these work pretty nicely with a dropped D.
