9we know that Sony acquired Gaikai a while back. Gaikai was an online video game streaming service. They've been repurposed for the PS4. During the PS4 press conference, the CEO of Gaikai, Dave Perry essentially announced that all current, old and new games will be present via the streaming service. It's one hell of a brave claim to make despite his caveat that they will come in waves. We're talking current gen games, older gen games, a veritable history of Sony gaming. Brilliant move guys. And to put it up in such a way that people can play instantly without downloading a big game demo or whatnot really has no downsides for anybody. That said it does pretty much confirm the rumor of no backwards compatibility via normal game discs because if they can monetize old games with streaming, they will.
