A report from Vice shows the reason behind the most unusual new feature on the PlayStation 5: activity cards. These activity cards give you insight into the game you’re playing as you play it. They could show you trophy progress, progression on the current mission, nearby quests or challenges you can jump to easily. It will even show you help on a level you could be struggling with if supported.

This was a direct response to a thriving single player market. PlayStation realized people love single player and often find themselves going online for help or figuring out where they are. The hope is activity cards will bring this information to the forefront. Now if only developers would fully support it, we’ll be on our way.
