“The Texas Chain Saw Massacre Game Revealed. In the recent history of Gun Media tackling licensed releases, the publisher has faced problems with its 2017 release- Friday the 13th: The Game. Although the Illfonic-developed project established enough fun for a fruitful post-launch roadmap, the game did not get that far due to legal complications with the license, This resulted with development being walled thanks to the film franchise and starring psychopath Jason Vorhees. However, the game did manage to establish dedicated servers for the consistent user base that continued playing the game avidly. But, that was only for a brief time too. By November 2020, Illfonic & Gun Media pulled the plug for online play for the entirety of Friday the 13th: The Game unfortunately.”

“PSVR2 Is Playable at GDC and Is Already Blowing Minds. PSVR2 is playable behind closed doors at GDC this week, and there’s already a lot of buzz seeping out of the show. Chet Faliszek, a Valve veteran, shared the following on Twitter: “Had one of those VR moments today playing in the new PSVR2 HMD. You know where the world just feels different when you return? So good… thanks [Shuhei Yoshida] and [Greg Rice] for the demo and chat.” This was post was later shared on the ResetEra forum, where one user mentioned that the comment sounded hyperbolic. “It’s not hyperbolic,” replied a Truant Pixel developer, who’s working on RUNNER, a motorcycle game for PSVR2.”

ResetEra sleuths have pointed out that Microsoft executive Sarah Bond may have accidentally “confirmed” PlayStation Game Pass rival, rumored to be code named Spartacus, during a Fireside chat with fellow executive Phil Spencer at Game Developers Conference 2022. Bond, who is the head of Xbox creator experience, was discussing subscription services and their benefits when she mentioned that “Sony’s announced theirs [subscription services].”

“Sony to Unveil PlayStation Subscription as Soon as Next Week. Sony Group Corp. is preparing to introduce a new video game subscription service for the PlayStation as early as next week, said people familiar with the plans. The service, which has been in development under the codename Spartacus, is Sony’s answer to Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox Game Pass, a sort of Netflix for video games that has amassed more than 25 million subscribers. Sony’s will debut with a splashy lineup of hit games from recent years, said the people, who requested anonymity because the plans are private. Sony’s new service will combine two of its current offerings, PlayStation Now and PlayStation Plus. Customers will be able to choose from multiple tiers offering catalogs of modern games and classics from older PlayStation eras.”
