Please Tag Your Damn Streams Correctly (Language Ratings)
If you want to use a rating to specify the language policy for your stream chat, make sure you actually know what each one means. A lot of people don't, and they contradict their own rules with custom additions, leading to unfair punishments, and embarrassing their viewers who actually were following the rules, not breaking them.
If you don't know what PG or PG-13 is, and you want the language in your stream to roll a certain way, don't use ratings unless you know what they are. PG-13 allows some fairly strong language, and some people use PG-13 tags but enforce squeaky--clean language policies.
On Twitch, the streamer is responsible for failure to address what is said in chat. In this case, make better rules that make sense and don't contradict each other. Or, continue to be ignorant and lose viewers that otherwise would have liked watching you because of the embarrassment when they get dinged for something that was inadequately explained.
Specify in writing what your expectations are. If you know the rating system, what it allows, and what it doesn't allow for each one, then operate on that.
