...And we are back, with this "Series", This third part opens up with "Genesis", It's a small level yeah, The smallest in Plutonia Experiment but do NOT think that makes it easy by any means, Genesis is another shooting gallery like level with very little cover, I completely missed the Super Shotgun at the stairs because muscle memory was in overdrive with this level, The "Invisbility Orb" room showcases another nasty trap:Lowering the exit walkway and revealing closets of enemies which was making me MAD..The exit isn't that bad but the Arch-Vile that appears after the key walkway and the main area was annoying as fuck.

The Twilight.. It's a hard one yes but it, The "Midpoint" of Plutonia Experiment was nowhere near as bad as I found it to be vs the first ever time I played Final Doom, The Chaingunners are back in force with nearly every direction loaded with them, Revenants placed in annoying areas along with the Mancubuses and Hell knights, ...But then the map reveals it's true nature:There are two Arch-Viles hiding in a area that cannot be accessed which will revive the Chaingunners, One teleports out but another remains until a Crusher kills it, the 2nd spider mastermind of the wad appears near the end but I didn't waste time and ran for the secret exit.. The Secret levels of Plutonia Experiment are a WHOLE other ballgame vs the base levels.

Map 31, "Cyberden", Is listed by it's intermission text as "The 2nd hardest level we got, Hope you have a saved game a level or two ago..If not, Be prepared to die aplenty, For Master Marines ONLY", It's not THAT bad, I can circle strafe better with a PS4 controller vs my Laptop's Arrow and Alt keys, The Cyberdemons are all in cages which lower once a switch is hit, The Arch-Viles of the first switch room are ignored as they are behind walls you can't see but they can attack you, The last part is a coin toss as a fake exit lowers two walls with about 50 revenants (or less) and I just ran like hell towards the Super secret exit, You cannot exit back to normal levels like in Doom, TNT Evilution, or Doom II.

Map 32... "Go 2 It", It's funny, because the intermission text states blunty: "Betcha wondered just what was the hardest map we had ready for ya? Now you know. No one gets out alive", Perhaps.. that's true if you are sloppy and aren't using cover or strategy, But seriously, Go 2 It and Cyberden are the 3rd and 4rth most infamous levels of this wad, Unlike the previous 3 however, Go 2 It doesn't really feel like a serious map but more along the lines of jokewads like Mock.Wad, I'm not kidding when I say this:It may be hard, but it's not Hell Revealed hard.. No this is the originator of the slaughter wads.

A total of 206 monsters awaits you in Go 2 It, Most are of the EXTREMELY dangerous type including Pain Elementals (19 of those fuckers), 13 Cyberdemons, 1 Spider Mastermind, a fuckton too many Arch-Viles, A huge group of chaingunners and much much more, Thankfully this map is OVERFLOWING with ammo, You get every weapon at the start including the BFG9000, Ammo is stacked together and I managed to actually avoid dying more then I did in the past.. But as before, Don't believe Go 2 It is a walk in the park.

The Omen, The Compound, and Neurosphere are three unique levels that are very different from one another, The Omen has so many ambushes and spawn traps it's not funny.. The ending of that level with all of those hitscanners can fuck off and die, Compound is a bit easier but it still has those areas that catch you by surprise, Neurosphere is based on "The Inmost Dens" but works different and it's harder then fuck with another shooting gallery design and scumbag monster placement near windows.

NME (or Enemy) is where I was losing my patience rapidly, This level SUCKS just like Ghost Town, There are Spawn ambushes EVERYFUCKINGWHERE, There are spawns here there in the walls and dirtbag monster closets that catch you in hallways, That's not even the worst part though, The Cyberdemon of this level the 16th overall of this wad is VERY hard to fight in the cramped main area, It finally leads to the map that gave the most trouble in this part.. Even more trouble then Hunted and Onslaught...

Map 20, "The Death Domain", I was getting MAD, This level is just stupidly hard for it's design, Again another open area shooting gallery like Neurosphere with Arachnotrons, Revenants, and Chaingunners, The problem is that there is BARELY enough ammo to defeat the enemies on this level on Ultra-Violence, You need RNG to be completely on your side and It just was not happening, The Baron area where they keep warping around is bullshit, I never had this much trouble with Map 20 ever..

Part 4 will close this series, It will be done in May and will feature: "Slayer", "Impossible Mission", "Tombstone", "The Final Frontier", "The Temple Of Darkness", "Bunker", "Anti-Christ", "The Sewers" "Odyssey Of Noises" and the boss... "The Gateway Of Hell"
