This is my map. The first inspiration for this map is Plutonia's map23 "Tomestone" and map24 "The Final Frontier". Wandering in the depths of hell, you get a key at the back and on your way back, you meet a trap where the floor suddenly rises up and enemies attack you. Then you can go up to the cliff. I was creating my map around these concepts, but I decided to make two choices for the first key to obtain anyway, so I created two areas, one with a blue key and one with a yellow key, and if you obtained either one, the other would be sealed off and inaccessible for a while. Originally, both the yellow key area and the blue key area were to be a simple single room, but I felt that a simple room would be a bit of a letdown after spending so much time making it accessible again, so both areas are quite voluminous in content. By the way, the blue key area was inspired by Plutonia's map28 "Sewers". I also tried to incorporate a mechanism whereby the three key switches of "Tomestone" are scattered throughout the map and pressing them releases the exits. The map has become even more enormous by additional areas for these switches. The area where the red key switch is located is based on Doom2's map29 "The Living End", which was the basis for "The Final Frontier". In the end, this map was much larger than I had envisioned, and it took quite a bit of development time. It is the largest map I have ever created. I also think it's a bit much, but I hope you enjoy it because I worked hard on it.
