Important Notes:
If you migrate from SSF ( solo-self Found ) to Standard League, you cannot transfer it back to SSF.
Standard League allows you to trade items with others or through Merchant Tabs. SSF cannot trade with anyone even if you purchased a premium stash now called "Merchant Stash". ( patch 3.0 august 29th 2025 )
Merchant's stash allows you to trade items while your offline. Prior to the patch, you were forced to be online to trade anything. Now, you don't have too. But you need to upgrade your Premium stash to a Merchant stash.

You cannot transfer any old characters created to play "Rise of the Abyssal" new Edict. You need to create a new character to play Rise of the Abyssal. However, you will retain all your purchases stash including premium stash.
Note: Your premium stash will not "auto" upgrade it self to merchant stash. You will need to manually do it yourself. Link below:

Conclusion: Should you migrate your SSF character to a standard league? That is a subjective question for all. Some like it, some don't.
If you prefer to play the way like "Diablo 2" way with no trading whatsoever ( and more challenging in a way ).. then play SSF. If you don't mind to get some loots from trading with other players ( like World of warcraft Auction house type ), then Standard league will provide you that.
There are no good or bad decisions.
