Once Upon a Time - A Treasured loving Light

Through the dark bridges in mental confines,
Where shadow obscures the light,
And memories are fleeting, rarely seen,
tearfully removed each on from sight.

I remember your warmth, jazz..

When the grief I feel through caring,
And the Burden of my love drains
The Energy of life i have,
And i look at what love i had remains,
I wait to see such a glimmer
of that hope in her laugh and ebony smile.
Or a mention of that love for me,
That i can treasure for a while.

Like a jewel shining in darkness,
A gift more precious than gold,
Is the memories of her old love...
from Jasmine so long ago, this is something i must hold.
as its warmth to me stands as a beacon so bold
a friend, girlfriend, close friend that i cared for so deeply of old
Only an inspiration now... it's a story that can't really be told.

I remember your warmth, Jazz..

across the threads of the lives we climb,
shaped to our own ways given by design,
when choosing my life to be shared was my sign
yet the choices weren't strong... my affairs were in line
And when a derail in plans happen to bait a crime
throughout this lifetime..

I remember your warmth... Jazz

I loved you first: but afterwards your love
Out soaring mine, sang such a loftier song
As drowned the friendly cooings of my dove.
Which owes the other most? my devotion was long,
And yours one moment seemed to wax more strong;
I loved and guessed at you, you construed me
And loved me for what might or might not or can never be –
Nay, weights and measures do us both a wrong.
For verily appreciation knows not ‘mine’ or ‘thine;’
With separate ‘I’ and ‘thou’ free love has done,
For one is both and both are one in love:
Rich love knows nought of ‘this or that which cannot be mine;’
Both have the strength and both the length thereof,
Both of us, of the love which makes us one.

In that hour of darkness, when we need to be strong..
To not forget these past roots to where you belong..

I think back to an earlier time in one's simpler thought
No more can there be a "We" that was sought
And a solution towards sadness seems naught..
When all my positivity decays and starts to rot..
I catch myself dipping further back into my cerebral pot..

Back into the pool of the good times..

I valued our time together at school and the house in glee
I feel thought of when you called me DJ or DeeDee
Tears of joy embrace the sentiment, grinning happily.

I remember your warmth, Jazz

I felt happy. I felt Complete. I felt Content.
So many days treasured, the time given for her that I spent
Somebody that finally appreciated me loved me for me, i didn't have to be fake, no lies to present
no distractions of video games or worldly distractions... Or the truth about me bent
"Thank you Dion, your way of words I like so much bout you" - words that play on end as an event
having a past flame now my best friend, oh I know where my happiness was well spent.
Since that 2014 day... you see why this was hard to let her go; why my emotions always vent...

Acceptance became easier after a long while, the further my feet hit the floor
Growing up on the pain, I don't feel sad about it as much anymore
Instead I seek something to replace the void here in the connection I wore
To meet another woman in life, & create a new emotional lore
not to replace what we had, I'll still keep those feelings that lie sore
but rather build a direction so my feelings can truly start to restore.

I have no choice but to believe this path clearly not so broad
becoming more unstable, unhappy, displeased, o just flawed
Life showing a fool like me mercy would be quite odd
I must have faith that this works as I will trust further in God

stay strong out there as we serve as a guidance, for you and me to survive
to hopefully strive, & slowly pull forward of our ruts in no added emotional dive.
staying determined to restore our own life's given charm and drive.

my gratitude is infinite as great happy memories in life to me you did bless
As the affection we had as teens stays a beacon in this adult's mental darkness...
