At first you might assume this doesn't make any sense at all - actively dumping hundreds of gallons/thousands of liters of poison directly into the River itself and some tributaries in order to save a fish species from another fish species. And, you'd probably be in the majority there (hopefully). In the long run, this will have far reaching negative impacts on the river, ecosystems, fish, invertebrates and other critters that live in the river, as well as the wildlife that rely on it, and of course, all the people who rely upon it too for recreation and fishing, to food and drinking water. This is beyond illogical, backwards "environmentalism" and "conservationism" of nature and native species. In fact, this whole scheme directly violates the very sanctity and reality of what genuine, true Environmentalism truly is and stands for, as well for the same for Conservation and Restoration. Its egregious, and a shining example of when people, including the "experts" refuse to use their brain, nor common sense. And it is more fuel to the fires of those who do not trust the public facing "experts" of any topic.
To the man who filmed this encounter and interaction, and confidently & calmly took matters into his own hands - Thank you, and keep doing true environmentalism and conservationism! I appreciate it so much, and I hope you're able to assemble a hell of a team that will never relent. The world needs far more people like this out there.
And yeah... I don't really believe the poison they're using is just a "natural toxin from the root of a bean plant". Sorry. I just don't buy it, I don't trust any of that crap for a second.
