The Portland Trail Blazers and GM Joe Cronin have done it again - one upped their own stupidest moves, topping their previous record holding position of most incompetent and delusional franchise in the NBA.
Dame went full toxic petty mode and intentionally waited to verify he succeeded in getting the team to sign his bud JG to a oversized contract before he then announced he was gonna dip. And see, he knew how dumb Joe Cronin and company are, and they'd double down on resigning him anyway even after trading him away. In fact, shortly after I finished editing this very video, Jake Fischer of The Athletic reported that Joe Cronin is still fully committed to "building a winning franchise in Portland" even through and after trading Dame, and that he (Joe Cronin) was determined to find a trade that gave the Blazers back "star level value", too. He still won't pick a direction of the damn team.
And through these two things that are dominating the headlines across the NBA, and Portland fans' minds, there is another two things that really have a far greater impact than any of us will likely admit: Joe Cronin didn't even bother to take the time to find a trade for Trendon Watford, and opted to straight up waive him and claim a BS reasoning for why it was a "smart move". And, we've officially lost Drew Eubanks to the Phoenix Suns. No, losing Clam Radish (Cam Reddish) to the Los Angeles Lakers is NOT a loss at any real level. Also... $51M for Cam Reddish? REALLY!? Dear lord...
All of this and more gets explained in this video where I break it all down as to why it genuinely is the equivalent of the end for the Portland Trail Blazers... why it is in fact the equivalent to a death certificate for this team.
