Johto : 1/ heal in Goldenrod. TP back after first trip up R35 (spinners cleared so no problems going back up).
2/ get E-quake in V-road. And just rotate moves on Fire Punch for E4. Keep Shadow ball and T-punch until the end of the run!
Kanto : Misty BEFORE Erika (less menuing) but they can be done in any order. DO NOT overwrite Ice punch until you beat Erika.
Misc : Q : Why timer at 2:30 before starting?
A : The full intro (with my mashing speed) is about 2:30 long. Since the code I use to make 0 DV mons doesn't always work, I load a state where my Mew has been checked to be 0 DV. I still count the intro tho if one day I get a code that always works.
Q : Couldn't you level up more?
A : Yes I totally could. But the run is supposed to be speedy and as close to minimum battles as I can. Over leveling just isn't the option here. Even tho I could.
Q : Why those trainers and not others?
A : They either are spinners (so hard to dodge anyways) or they are lone trainers left after going through the fast route. So instead of using other trainers to level, I beat those cause they are on my way through. Due to Red being Impossible on minimum battles (Snorlax does too much damage), I take exp where I can!
Q: Do you know there are more candies to get?
A : Yes I do. In fact, I'm missing 3 of them. All three would require fights or are completely out of the way (Whirl Islands, Tin Tower (triple fight +. Suicune) and Mount Mortar (back end)). So no picking those up!
Q : Why not teach Surf for more power?
A : Multiple reasons. The two easy ones are that Surf doesn't help that much (maybe during the Johto portion... but otherwise nope) and requires to go to Blackthorn to remove if needed. Second is Surf wouldn't help on Snorlax anyways (because he almost always Amnesia turn 1). Also, how do you get past Karen's Umbreon?
Q : Why not pick TM29 and replace Psychic so that you have more choices?
A: I don't feel like there would be any reason to teach over Psychic and then teach it again via TM. While I cycle the punches because I don't really have a choice, let me ask you this : what would be useful to teach over Psychic that I can get rid of later without having trouble?
