This is part 17 of my continuous walkthrough of Pokemon Emerald.

In this video, we fight the 5th Gym Leader, our father, and earn our 5th Gym Badge and a cool TM. This normal-type gym is weak to Fighting type moves. Be sure to level up your team/party to around level 30 as the trainers here are powerful. I would recommend bringing X-Attacks and X-Defends. Here's Norman's team:

Some quick tips: Spinda will try to confuse you, Linoone will try to belly drum to maximize its attack, Vigoroth has really high attack, and Slaking is rediculously strong (Use x-items to get the advantage) After defeating him, you will get the 5th Badge, TM Facade, and the kind stranger will give you HM03 Surf!
