Today I started the journey of Pokemon Emerald on the Gameboy Advanced. This will be a first time playthrough where I figure out all of Emerald's gameplay first hand and discover what secrets and exciting Pokemon I come across on my adventure.
For this playthrough of generation 3 Pokemon, I chose the adorable Torchic as my starting partner! I have always loved Torchic, finding their design to be cute and simple. Though I won't be using Torchic as often as I may other Pokemon in my team due to my desire to test out many different Pokemon during this blind playthrough. The gameplay may be similar to the past Pokemon games of Generation 1 and 2, but I just need to grab all these pretty creatures and see as much of this game as I can.
After Professor Birch gives us Torchic, the goal now is to travel the Hoenn region. Catching as many Pokemon as we find, building a powerful team, and winning enough badges to put ourselves in front of the strongest trainers Hoenn has to offer.
I love Pokemon Red, Blue, and of course; Yellow. And SoulSilver / LeafGreen were also fantastic games. I have no woe that Emerald will be added to the list of legendary Pokemon games and experiences i've had in the series thus far. My Pokemon walkthroughs are often filled with fun, light hearted moments, and memories I think upon once in awhile. As well as a great style of gameplay walkthrough to involve my viewers, too. So, saddling up for Emerald has me excited.

Like the previous upper version, Pokémon Crystal, it added many features not present in the earlier paired versions. It was released in Japan on September 16, 2004, in North America on May 1, 2005, in Australia on June 9, 2005, and in Europe on October 21, 2005.
It was the second highest-selling video game of 2005 in North America. It was also the third best-selling game for the Game Boy Advance, losing to the other Generation III games, Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire and Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen.
