It's a marker of a good JRPG if the game’s final battle has you storming the throne of God themself and kicking their butt in revenge for all the ways in which they've wronged you.

In that regard, Pokemon Legends: Arceus on the Nintendo Switch, has things half-correct. But what the game never admits is that the Pokemon God is, in fact, a massive kidnapping evil jerkward that doesn't care about the world a bit and provokes the most tragic story a Pokemon game has ever told.
