Pokémon Let's Go Eevee - Custom Painted Nintendo Switch Case
This time I tried something new, I hope you like the video style.
To protect my Nintendo Switch from color stains I wrapped it in clingfilm. (Don't do this without clingfilm!)
I used the color from Posca markers and mixed them to match the brown of Eevee. So I had to use a paint brush this time. The artwork was sealed with clear varnish as always.
Here is my first impression/opinion:
Firstly, I love the style and the graphics. Compared to the previous games it’s just astonishing.
I mostly played in Handheld mode, because I generally enjoy that the most, but I tried the other two options too.
The catching mechanism is way more enjoyable when you can throw your Joy-Con or, if you have one, your PokéBall Plus. In Handheld mode you only have to move your Switch to centre the (often moving) Pokémon and press the A-button.
The catching itself is much more entertaining than I thought it would be, but it gets a little bit repetitive to catch the same Pokémon over and over. You did that in the older games too, but you had the chance to encounter a new Pokémon. I am curious to see, how catching really strong Pokémon will be.
Another great improvement are the secret techniques as they replace the HMs (e.g. “Cut”, ”Surf”).
Some of the old-school Pokémon feeling is missing, since you can see every Pokémon on the map. Otherwise that feature helps avoiding annoying battles, so I hate caves not so much anymore :-)
Maybe there could be a compromise: You see Pokémon on your Way, but in the grass, they are attacking in surprise.
I really enjoy the Retro feeling in the map and world, that they replicated very detailed. For next games it could be nice though, if they try out an open world style with much more freedom in movement and map style.
