Now with the Secret Technique of Sea Skim, we can access many places we couldn't access before, one of these places is the Power Plant on Route 10. This place has a lot of Electric-type Pokémon, and is home to Zapdos, the Legendary Bird of Lightning.

As the rest of the description, I recommend watching the full video before reading past this point of the description.

As the Power Plant is a new area, there are some new encounters in there, as well as Route 10, I will go over each one. It seems to have different music, in Red & Blue, it was the Rocket Hideout, in FireRed & LeafGreen, it was Pokémon Mansion, but in this game, it has the music for Silph Co.
Through Sea Skim on Route 10, there is a 4% encounter with Dratini, and a 1% encounter with Dragonair. It does come with Dragon Rage when caught, and the downside is that it isn't until Level 55 that Dragonair will evolve into Dragonite, so you will be using Dragonair for the entire game. While Dragonair isn't a bad Pokémon, it just has a hard time keeping up with the rest of the team, it learns Outrage at Level 52 and learns a wide variety of TMs, like Flamethrower, Thunderbolt, Surf and Ice Beam. Once it becomes Dragonite, it will learn Wing Attack when evolved, Dragonite has great stats, so this Pokémon is a test of patience, as you will be using Dragonair for most of the game, you should have Dragonite by the end of the game.
Next up is the Electric-types at the Power Plant, which is unfortunate for Let's Go Pikachu players, as Pikachu is also an Electric-type and outclasses most of the Electric-types here. The first Pokémon is Voltorb, and you can find its evolved form Electrode as a wild Pokémon battle with the upside down Poké Balls, you will know that is an Electrode. It will come with Thunderbolt when caught, and Electrode is the fastest Pokémon in the game, and its Special Attack is above average, so it should be able to deal damage with Thunderbolt. One nice thing about Electrode is that you can teach it Reflect and Light Screen, so Electrode makes a good lead depending on the opponent you battle against. I wouldn't say Electrode is the best choice, but it can be a decent Pokémon to use.
Magnemite and its evolved form Magneton are good options, as they are one of very few Steel-type Pokémon available in the game. It will have Flash Cannon when caught as a Magnemite, but when you catch it as a Magneton, it won't get it until Level 46, but you should have the TM for Flash Cannon to teach it. Magneton's movepool is quite limited, so Thunderbolt and Flash Cannon are all you will need on it, unless you want to teach it Tri Attack. Magneton is a solid Pokémon with good Special Attack, so it should make a good team member if you are looking for an Electric-type to use.
Then we have Electabuzz, who has good Speed and offensive capabilities, it can learn the Elemental Punches through TM, and can learn some good TMs like Psychic and Brick Break. Depending on what nature you get, Thunderbolt or Thunder Punch depends on Electabuzz's higher Attack stat. Since you can't get Electivire in this game, Electabuzz is decent at best, while the access to the Elemental Punches is nice, it's not a bad option.
Now for the version exclusives, in Let's Go Pikachu, you can find Grimer and Muk. It comes with Toxic when caught, and can be taught Poison Jab through TM. Muk can use Screech to lower the target's Defense, so it is a great support Pokémon. With good Attack and bulk, Muk should be able to take some hits that aren't super effective, and access to Brick Break and the Elemental Punches are good options. If you are looking for a Poison-type, Muk is not a bad choice.
For Let's Go Eevee players, Koffing and Weezing are Defensive Poison-types. When caught as a Koffing, it will have Sludge Bomb, which Weezing doesn't get until Level 50. The nice thing about Weezing is it has access to Will-O-Wisp, as well as some good moves like Flamethrower, Thunderbolt and Dark Pulse. Weezing's Defense, along with Will-O-Wisp makes it a good option against Physical attackers, so if you are in need of a Defensive Pokémon, Weezing is a great choice.
Now onto the Legendary Bird, Zapdos. All its stats are boosted, so this will be a tough battle, it has Thunderbolt and Drill Peck, so Golem or Rhydon wall Zapdos. After defeating it, you will have a chance to capture it, when Zapdos is surrounded in electricity, your berries won't work on it and it can fly around, so this is very difficult to catch.
As for Zapdos, I would recommend it if you don't mind using Legendary Pokémon on your team. It comes with Thunderbolt and Drill Peck, which is all you will need on it, and it has good Speed and Special Attack, so Thunderbolt will hurt. U-turn and Light Screen will fill in the rest of Zapdos's moveset, it does get Roost, which is not a bad move to give to Zapdos. For Nature, I would go with Naive, while Modest does boost Thunderbolt, it does hinder Drill Peck.
