I have obtained all eight Gym Badges, and now it is time to head off to the Pokémon League at Indigo Plateau, but first my rival battles me to see if I am up to the challenge. I won't be doing all of Victory Road in one video, so the rest of it will be in the next part.

As the rest of the description, I recommend watching the full video before reading past this point of the description.

The Rival Battle shouldn't be too hard if you have the correct counters to his team, but he does have some great moves on his Pokémon, his Pidgeot has Air Slash, Vileplume has Petal Dance, Marowak has Bonemerang, and either Jolteon or Raichu has Thunder. After beating my rival, it is time to head to Route 23.
There are some new encounters on Route 23, you can get Poliwag and Poliwhirl by using Sea Skim, and I went over them many parts ago.
There are some new encounter, and one of them is Exeggcute, and a 1% encounter with Exeggutor. Exeggcute can get Mega Drain and Psychic through TM, and it will come with Sleep Powder when caught, and you should be able to evolve it into Exeggutor right away with a Leaf Stone. Exeggutor's movepool is quite limited, but Mega Drain and Psychic will be all you will need on it, it isn't like the Alolan Exeggutor where it gets moves you wouldn't even expect an Exeggutor to use. It's a great choice if you are looking for a final team member, you can access that point right after obtaining the Marsh Badge, so that would be a great time to add Exeggcute to the team.
Speaking of 1% encounters, you can find Nidoqueen and Nidoking in the wild, and if for some reason you didn't train up a Nidoran way back on Route 22 and you get lucky finding their final form, they are worth considering. You have the Earthquake TM, and they can learn a wide variety of TMs, and they come at a respectable level, so they should be ready to go.
I will be mostly showing the first few rooms of Victory Road, the rest will be in the next part. You can encounter some high level Pokémon, like Rhydon and Machoke in Victory Road, and there is a Coach Trainer who uses a Ditto which will give you Pikachu Candy or Eevee Candy depending on your game.
There are some useful TMs you can get, first up is Stealth Rock, which is a great move in competitive multiplayer, and because Rapid Spin and Defog are not in the game, Stealth Rock is permanent, and is a great move on leads like Aerodactyl.
On the 2nd floor, there are two TMs, Solar Beam got buffed to 200 Power, and this might seem nice, you will have to charge up on the first turn, and there is no weather, so this does hinder Mega Charizard Y's use. There is also a TM for Superpower, a 120 Power Fighting-type move that cuts your Attack and Defense when used. Some hard hitting Physical attackers, like Arcanine, Machamp, Flareon, Pinsir, Poliwrath, Kabutops and Rhydon can learn that move, so it's good for hitting hard, even though the stat drops can be a downside.
