It is time to check out a cave in Cerulean City that is guarded by a Coach Trainer and can only be accessed by anyone that has become the Champion and defeated the Elite Four. Cerulean Cave, or the Unknown Dungeon as it was called in the original games, is full of high level Pokémon, and at the end is a very powerful Pokémon.

As the rest of the description, I recommend watching the full video before reading past this point of the description.

Before we take on the ultimate challenge in Cerulean Cave, there is a Coach Trainer, who has five Pokémon and they all know the move Megahorn, which he does give the TM for. Being a 120 Power Physical Bug-type move, very few Pokémon can learn it, those being Nidoking, Rapidash, Seaking, Dewgong, Rhydon and Lapras.
Now for Cerulean Cave, and interesting fact is that the glittery floor can give good items, like a Golden Berry, 10 Ultra Balls, and you can even get a Master Ball. In front of the crystals in the middle, you can get a Helix Fossil, Dome Fossil or Old Amber, so this can be a great way to obtain many Omanyte, Kabuto or Aerodactyl, but they are quite rare.
As for the encounters, you can find some high level Pokémon, including Golduck, Rhydon, Graveler, Golbat, Ditto and Chansey, but there is one new encounter, and that is Lickitung, and it is unfortunately not great. Lickitung's only purpose is Pokédex filler, and it is outclassed by Snorlax and Chansey, you even get Snorlax in Cerulean Cave as a special spawn, so the only reason you should use Lickitung is if you want to go for the Lickitung Master Trainer Title.
Through Sea Skim, there is a 1% encounter with Poliwrath, but you are better off evolving it from a Poliwhirl with a Water Stone.
I also like how they made Cerulean Cave easier to navigate, because it was very tricky in the original games, and even in FireRed & LeafGreen where you had to go through a maze, but good thing they removed it in this game.
At the end of Cerulean City, you will go up against a Level 70 Mewtwo with all stats boosted, making this one tough challenge. With massive Special Attack and great Speed, Mewtwo's Psychic can easily destroy your entire team if you don't have any good answers to it, Alolan Muk and Mega Gyarados are great choices, and if you trained up a Chansey, it can wall Mewtwo.
Mewtwo has Recover, so unless you have Toxic, this would be your best option against it.
After beating Mewtwo, here's the annoying part, catching it is a pain, as Mewtwo will put up a barrier that will make Berries and Poké Balls useless against it. If you still have your Master Ball, this is the best time to use it. The Master Ball has a cool animation when you use it.
As for Mewtwo, it has the highest Special Attack stat and the highest Base Stat Total in the game, not counting Mega Evolutions, and it has great Speed as well. Even though Mega Alakazam has higher Special Attack and Speed than Mewtwo, it is walled by Chansey and Alolan Muk, while Mewtwo has access to Earthquake and Brick Break to handle them, as Mewtwo does have a good Attack stat. Mewtwo has a very wide movepool, it is able to learn Thunderbolt, Ice Beam, Flamethrower, Calm Mind, Shadow Ball, Bulk Up, Poison Jab, Will-O-Wisp, Taunt, Rock Slide and the Elemental Punches, meaning it has many ways of dealing with different types. It comes at Level 70, so Mewtwo will be set to destroying many foes that stand in its way, like the Gym Leader Re-Matches, and it can easily defeat the Elite Four if you arrange its moves around between fights. It was the original Uber Legendary, and I think it is the only Pokémon that is in the Uber Tier in this game, which to those that don't know, the Uber Tier is where Pokémon that are banned in OU (Overused) are placed, the most common being Legendary Pokémon.
