I decided to upgrade to a Google Pixel 7 and figured I would see how well it handles video game emulation. For 3DS games, I am testing them first at 2x resolution, which actually looks really nice and crisp on the phone's display.
The Citra Enhanced emulator is an unofficial branch of the popular Citra emulator. It works a bit better on Android devices than the official builds. However, at the time of testing, a lot of games freeze/crash (similar experiences with the MMJ and the official Citra releases too) when playing on Android.
I am using a PS4 controller connected via Bluetooth with this emulator. For games that require you to use a touch screen, you can just touch your actualy screen too.
I am using the phone's built-in video screen recorder. Note that it can have a small impact on performance, so if a game appears slightly jerky but the FPS remains solid, it typically plays smooth as butter on the phone when not recording.

If you are using a controller and want to get rid of the on-screen controls, you need to first boot up a game, bring up the menu, tap on Toggle Controls and then turn them all off and hit OK.
Roms need to be decrypted in order to play them with this emulator. You'll need to use Google or search here on YouTube for more about that. Please don't ask for roms!
