Pokemon: Play It is an interactive CD that came with the deluxe edition of the base starter set of the trading card game in 1999 (an updated version was included with the starter set of Base Set 2... which was actually the fourth series of cards don't let the "2" fool you). The disc is largely informational in nature and explains the rules of the game as well as how to play it. There are also some games to play that will net you a whopping THREE stamps on your TCG league passport! (You needed 25 for a promo card, and 50 for a badge.)

Included on the disc is a mostly competent tutorial where you can play a round of the game with 30 card (as opposed to 60) decks. There is an AI opponent (Julie the sleep paralysis demon) and the game does genuinely shuffle the decks and issue you random cards to start with. Case in point, Draco gets dealt an absolutely abysmal opening hand and loses in two turns. Pretend you didn't see that.

Normally the interactive card game only gives you the choice between a water or a fighting type deck, but if you type "fire" on the title screen a fire type deck will be unlocked, which Draco uses for this run. (Typing "special" also unlocks a hybrid type deck called Xtra in the game's data.)
