Pokemon Scarlet - A pair of Hoppips, and initial thoughts.
Yup, I finally broke down and got this broken game. Granted, it's not as bad as I heard, so far. It can actually look pretty nice, especially with how animated the Pokemon can be. "Can be." Yeah, this game's nowhere near as polished as you'd expect these games to be.
Regardless, I'm having a great time so far, though I'm never a fan of oversized cities in video games. Glad the game doesn't actually start at the school. Also, holy heck, there are so many monsters to train! More than I have time to train, so I gotta be choosy, which is hard.
I picked Scarlet because I like the past motif and the look of its box legendary, even if the latter looks like it's trying its best not to drag its wheels on the ground. My starter is Quaxly, as its final evolution is the only one I kinda like. My actual fursona is a pig, so of course I'm training a Lechonk. That's mine happily running hearts around me. Neat that your Pokemon can follow you, though they have a lot of trouble keeping up compared to Let's Go.
And OMG, the Hoppips! These two wandered up behind me while I was in a battle (another neat thing about this game). I don't know that this video does 'em justice, but they are so freaking adorable in this game! I recently did a run through Silver (I posted a few clips from that) and briefly trained a Hoppip before swapping it out, deciding to wait until a different gen to train one. Well, guess it'll be this gen!
