Here is our Easter event for 2021, last year's event was themed around Baby Pokémon, but for this year, Rabbit Pokémon will appear in the Max Raid Battles. The following Pokémon that can appear in Max Raid Battles are Azumarill, Lopunny, and Diggersby, and there is a rare chance of finding a Shiny Azumarill. There is also a chance that you can encounter Gigantamax Cinderace in Max Raid Battles, but you cannot capture Cinderace, but you do get some good rewards for fighting it.
We did have the Magikarp event on April 1st for only one day, but for this one, it will be from April 2nd till April 4th, and I could go over the Pokémon encountered during this event.
The first one is Azumarill, which is very fitting because Azumarill does look like an Easter egg with its shape and the white patterns on it. There is a 2% chance that you can find a guaranteed Shiny Azumarill, its Hidden Ability of Sap Sipper is a bad Ability, which makes me wish the Ability Patch can turn a Hidden Ability into a regular Ability, because Azumarill is one of these Pokémon that has a bad Hidden Ability, and if by chance you get a Shiny Azumarill with Sap Sipper. Huge Power is way better on it, and Azumarill does get some breeding moves like Belly Drum and Aqua Jet, and it can learn some great Physical moves, like Liquidation, Play Rough, Superpower, Ice Punch, Bounce, Bulldoze, and many other moves. Azumarill can even make good use of a Choice Band and for moves, have Liquidation, Play Rough, Aqua Jet, and Superpower be the moves it has, because Aqua Jet is a great priority move for it, and Azumarill's type combo of Water/Fairy is very good in terms of attacking, so having Liquidation and Play Rough are good enough on it.
Next is Lopunny, its Hidden Ability is Limber, which is a helpful Ability as it prevents Lopunny from being paralyzed. With the removal of Mega Evolution, Lopunny is kind of an underwhelming Pokémon in competitive battling, and while it can have Klutz for its Ability, it can use Switcheroo to swap a Choice Scarf or Toxic Orb to hinder its opponents. Lopunny's Attack stat is kind of average, so it can be hard to pull off an attacking set, because Mega Lopunny had like base 136 Attack and 135 Speed, and that was what made it a great Physical Attacker, but with Mega Evolution removed, that has nerfed Lopunny to the point of being unusable. It is one of few Pokémon to learn Magic Coat, but you are better off with a Pokémon with Magic Bounce, like Espeon, Xatu, or Hatterene. Lopunny can even make use of status moves, like Thunder Wave, Charm, Fake Tears, and many other moves, and it can use Baton Pass, but there are better options, and it can use Cosmic Power to boost its Defense and Special Defense, but once again, better options. If Mega Evolution was still in the game, Mega Lopunny would greatly benefit from having access to Close Combat.
The last one is Diggersby, well out of the ones you can capture, Diggersby's Hidden Ability is Huge Power, and this is the Ability you will want, because like Azumarill, Diggersby's Attack stat is below average, but with Huge Power, that will double its Attack to the point of making it usable. Diggersby has excellent access to a variety of Physical moves, like Body Slam, Earthquake, Bounce, Hammer Arm, Fire Punch, Thunder Punch, Rock Slide, Superpower, Stone Edge, Gunk Shot, Iron Head, Wild Charge, and High Horsepower, and it can even use Swords Dance to boost its Attack to terrifying levels. With the right set-up, Diggersby can be a great Pokémon in battle, and Choice Scarf is the usual item for it, as Diggersby's base Speed is kind of average, so a Choice Scarf is used so it can outspeed certain threats and get in some great damage with Earthquake, Body Slam, and Stone Edge, while Thunder Punch, Fire Punch, or Iron Head can fill in for a decent coverage option, Bounce is there for Max Airstream when Dynamaxed.
There is Cinderace you can fight in Max Raid Battles, but you cannot capture it, the Cinderace will have Libero, its Hidden Ability, so this will make it unpredictable, so I would recommend bringing in types that will resist its G-Max Fireball, like a defensive Water, Rock, or Ground-type Pokémon can be useful, and Cinderace does have a variety of moves, so far I have seen it use Pyro Ball and Double Kick, and I was surprised to see Snarl being used, because I did not know Cinderace could even learn Snarl. I don't know if this Cinderace has Bounce or Acrobatics for its Flying-type move, but with Libero, it is all about mind games, so having a faster Pokémon with the type advantage, a speedy Water-type like Inteleon or Barraskewda are good options, or a Pokémon with Swift Swim if one of your teammates has a Pokémon with Drizzle, like Kyogre or Pelipper, and if you have any Fairy-type coverage to get past Cinderace's Fighting-type moves, those can help, it is good to see Cinderace in the Max Raid Battles, even though you cannot capture it.
