It is another Wild Area Event, and this one is theme around Summer, it will be from August 6th till August 8th, and certain Pokémon will have increased appearances in Max Raid Battles, the following Pokémon are Vanilluxe, Seaking, Pinsir, Heracross, Ninjask, and Fan Rotom. There is a 2% chance of finding a guaranteed Shiny Vanilluxe, and from what I have checked, the colour scheme isn't much different, I guess it's more purple than blue, but the nice thing is that the normal Vanilluxe can appear up to 4 Star Max Raid Battles, and Shiny Vanilluxe appears in 5 Star Max Raid Battles, but it is very rare.
Starting things off is Vanilluxe, and there is a 2% chance of encountering a Shiny Vanilluxe, its Hidden Ability is Weak Armor, that is not a good Hidden Ability, Snow Warning is the best Ability to go with when using Vanilluxe, I know they added the Ability Patch so you can change a Pokémon's normal Ability to its Hidden Ability, but they need an item that reverses that, just in case anyone gets a Shiny Vanilluxe with Weak Armor. It has balanced stats, and it does get access to some nice moves like Blizzard and Aurora Veil, its coverage is very limited, Flash Cannon and Freeze-Dry are the best it gets, and it is overshadowed by Alolan Ninetales as a Pokémon with Snow Warning, but at least Vanilluxe is a decent enough Pokémon.
Next is Seaking, its Hidden Ability is Lightning Rod, which is a nice Ability, as that does give Seaking an immunity to Electric-type moves and gives it a Special Attack boost, making it nice for Mixed sets, as it gets moves like Hydro Pump and Ice Beam for Special moves, but it learns mostly Physical moves, like Waterfall, Megahorn, Poison Jab, Drill Run, and Throat Chop. Seaking is not that great of a Pokémon in battle, but Lightning Rod is a handy Ability for it.
The next one is Pinsir, and you can get both Pinsir and Heracross in both versions. Pinsir's Hidden Ability is Moxie, which is a nice Ability, Mold Breaker isn't a bad option to go with. Pinsir learns some good Physical moves, like X-Scissor, Close Combat, Earthquake, Stone Edge, Quick Attack, and a few others, and it can use Swords Dance to boost its Attack. With the removal of Mega Evolution, that has held Pinsir back, because Mega Pinsir would get Aerilate for its Ability so its Normal-type moves become Flying-type and it became Bug/Flying-type.
Heracross also has Moxie for its Hidden Ability, the two have identical stats, Heracross has higher HP and Special Defense, while Pinsir has higher Defense. Heracross can have Guts for its regular Ability, so paired with a Flame Orb and access to Facade can make Heracross sweep teams, it does get some powerful Physical moves, like Megahorn, Close Combat, Earthquake, Aerial Ace, Stone Edge, Throat Chop, and a few other moves, and it can even use Bullet Seed, Rock Blast, and Pin Missile for moves that hit up to five times, even though those were good on Mega Heracross back in Generations 6 and 7. Moxie is a good Ability on Heracross, specially after a boost in Speed from Max Airstream after a Dynamax.
There are so many Bug-type Pokémon in this event, and one of them is Ninjask, its Hidden Ability is Infiltrator, not really worth it, as Speed Boost is good enough for it. Ninjask is usually used for passing stat boosts, so most sets use Substitute, Swords Dance, and Baton Pass to give those boosts to a powerful Physical Attacker so that they can sweep entire teams. Ninjask does have a respectable Attack stat, so it can be used as an Attacker with moves like Leech Life and Dual Wingbeat, and it can boost its Attack with Swords Dance so it can get off as much damage as it can, it can be a good user of Acrobatics if it does not have a held item, but it isn't easy to work around, as Ninjask is very frail on the defensive side.
The last one out of the bunch is Fan Rotom, with the most redundant Ability of all, because Fan Rotom is Electric/Flying-type, and it has Levitate for its Ability, when its Flying-type already gives it an immunity to Ground-type moves. One thing I could go over with Fan Rotom is that it is a good Dynamax user with Max Airstream coming from Air Slash, and it does get some nice moves like Thunderbolt, Shadow Ball, Dark Pulse, and a few others, and it can boost its Special Attack with Nasty Plot, but that's about it. Fan Rotom is possibly the least used out of all the Rotom forms, because if any Rotom form were to be used competitively, it would be either Wash Rotom or Heat Rotom, as both are the best forms, even normal Rotom sees more use than Fan Rotom.
