Pokemon X And Y - 3DS XL - Shiny / Consecutive Chain Fishing - Shiny Dragalge!
498This is a video of Pokemon X and Y for the Nintendo 3DS. In this video I am doing some Shiny / consecutive chain fishing. You can use ANY fishing rod for this method to work!
Where to catch Inkay?
I recommend catching a Inkay with the ability Suctions cups. This will allow you to ALWAYS get a bite on your fishing rod aslong as you fish by rocks. Not getting a nibble will break your chain. You can catch Inkay on route route 8, Azure Bay. For suction cups to work Inkay MUST be FIRST in your party, however it can be fainted and the ability still works.
Where do I find the Super Rod?
You also want to register your rod (Any rod) If you think you may press another registered item by mistake then I would recommend deselecting the other items. You find the Super rod on route 16. Go inside a building on route 16 and talk to the fisherman, he will tell you about consecutive fishing and challenge you to beat his streak, if you do, he will give you a prize!
Where should I fish?
Check your pokedex to see what pokemon you want to catch while fishing. If you aren't using Inkay then you need to find a rocky area because that will increase your chances of getting a bite on your rod, however it's not 100% This is why I say ALWAYS use Inkay for this method to work efficiently.
How do I chain successfully?
To chain successfully you MUST stay in one spot and DO NOT MOVE
Do NOT open any menus other than the 'Y' quick select to registered items
You CAN run from battles / catch pokemon / faint pokemon, it still counts as one chain.
Press 'A' right after the two exclamation marks (!!) appear above the rod and you will always hook the pokemon.
Once you have caught a shiny pokemon you can continue to chain fish (There have been reports that catching a shiny doesn't break the chain - UNCONFIRMED)
What breaks my chain?
Do NOT move from the spot you have chosen.
Do NOT open any menus other than the 'Y' quick select to registered items
Accidentally selecting a different item, other than your rod in the 'Y' quick select to registered items
Not hooking a pokemon, or pulling the rod out too soon / too fast
Saving your game and coming back to it later after your 3DS has been turned off.
Other things I recommend not doing, as they MAY break your chain (unconfirmed).
Do not put your 3DS into sleep mode.
