First off: Many apologies for the sound quality (particularly my voice volume) in this series.

Nintendo's most popular IP is hands down Mario. But from its inception Mario games are all 2D. How would a 3D Mario game look? How would it feel? How would it play? When video games transitioned into 3D during this era it brought up many philosophical issues, maybe some video games shouldn't even be in 3D. Regardless, I'm a firm believer that neither style is more "correct" than the other, both styles of 2D and 3D should exist in games.

Part 5 we "clean out" all of the stars in the basement that we want to get. A lot more of Hazy Mazy Cave, then onto a ... ANOTHER SECRET LEVEL!? Totally cool when I discovered Shifting Sand Land for the first time. Really solid level too, on the frustrating side but one of the best-built levels in this game. Then finally we get a few easy stars in Dire Dire Docks in preparation for our next Bowser matchup.
