On my way back to a friends flat in Edinburgh, we pass the scene of a single-vehicle breakdown, in which the front axle or suspension of the red vehicle gave way while it was stopped at traffic lights.
Police Officers parked their Vauxhall Astra Tourer up, with lights on, and began mashalling traffic to try and mitigate the affect of the lane closure: the A7 is one of the major routes in and out of Edinburgh! Fun fact, the officer that is standing in the lane I need to be in, as appeared on the documentary TV program Night Cops!
On that topic, I wasn't rubber-necking at the incident. The police officer was standing in the lane I needed to be in, so I wasn't sure if that road was open or not. Accidents frequently happen on that road (even just looking through this series, you can tell that!) and it gets closed fairly regularly. Off camera, I am gesturing to the officer about my intentions, which he answers by signalling me through. Hibblejaybob
