Way back in 2018, i found this glitch myself and dosen't seem to be documented anywhere else...

First go to either 1-1 or 1-3, then find any message block and activate mellow mode. With mellow mode on, the poochy pups will appear and follow you around.

Jump towards the message block and quickly call or dismiss the poochy pups by tapping his icon on the touch screen, if done correctly, the message texbox will be shown and Yoshi will regain control while the textbox is obscured out of view.

This unfortunantely dosen't have any useful porpuse yet...
