Released in 1998, developed by Bullfrog Productions and published by Electronic Arts, Populous: The Beginning is the third game in the Populous series. Markedly different from the previous two though, Populous: TB is a real-time strategy game mixing powerful, landscape changing magic with villagers you train into various different roles. It is a game I greatly enjoyed playing when it was initially released.
