After almost 1 year, I had the pleasure to film the incredible Porsche 997 GT2 Twin-Turbo RSR WideBody developed by the German friends of RS Tuning Team. I'm at the Imola circuit during a test day for GT racing cars organized by Kateyama. This Porsche is addictive; I'm always in love with the whistle of the double turbine and the blow-off valve. No modern turbocharged Porsche, at least from the last15 years, sounds so epic! I have to thank the owner and pilot enormously; every time he welcomes me with such kindness. And also, all the guys in the RS Tuning team are friendly; I'm happy to meet them when they return to Italy. A few technical specs. The flat-six engine has been brought to a displacement of 3.9 litres, and the monstrous power it develops can vary depending on the mappings from 680hp to 830hp. The basic body of the car is a 997 RSR, and the weight is about 1,280kg; we find also the sequential gearbox and the traction is strictly rear. I want to congratulate the driver; he confessed that hasn't raced in Imola since 1992. He, therefore, found himself having to rediscover the circuit during the rainy morning test session. But when a pilot has a lot of experience and is very fast, as you can see from the onboard, nothing can worry him. Enjoy! 😉

Dopo quasi 1 anno ho avuto il piacere di filmare nuovamente l'incredibile Porsche 997 GT2 Twin-Turbo RSR WideBody sviluppata e gestita degli amici tedesci di RS Tuning. Mi trovo sul circuito di Imola durante un giorno di test per vetture racing GT organizzata da Kateyama. Quest'auto comporta assuefazione, rimango sempre innamorato dal fischio della doppia turbina e dalla valvola Blow-off. Nessuna Porsche moderna sovralimentata degli 15 anni suona in un modo così epico! Ringrazio enormemente il proprietario e pilota, ogni volta mi accoglie con tanta gentilezza e disponibilità. Ed anche tutti i ragazzi del team RS Tuning sono sempre amichevoli, sono felice di incontrarli quando tornano in Italia. Qualche nota tecnica. Il motore flat-six è stato portato alla cilindrata di 3.9 Litri e la potenza mostruosa che sviluppa può variare a seconda delle mappature da 680cv a 830cv. Il corpo base della vettura è una 997 RSR ed il peso è di circa 1.280kg. Troviamo infine il cambio sequenziale e la trazione è rigorosamente posteriore. Voglio fare i complimenti al pilota, mi ha confessato di non girare ad Imola dal lontano 1992. Si è trovato quindi a dover riscoprire il circuit sotto la pioggia battente, almeno per tutta la mattinata. Però quando un pilota ha tanta esperienza ed è molto veloce, come potete vedere dall'onboard, niente lo impensierisce. Buona visione! 😉
