Porsche Macan facelift 2022 Interior & Exterior design
Porsche has given its Macan a considerable update for 2022, with new exterior and interior styling, suspension upgrades, and of course more power.
Interior upgrades include the multifunction and GT Sport steering wheels from the 911; new upholstery packages of leather with contrasting stitches; and on the GTS, a sport package that includes 18-way sport seats, carbon-fibre accents, and Race-Tex and leather upholstery.
Most noticeable in all trims is a redesigned console, and the biggest news is that the rows of buttons are gone. Instead, as in the Cayenne, you get glass on either side of the shifter, where you tap on icons to make things happen. Even so, there’s still an analogue clock on the dashboard, and it’s now standard equipment on everything.
All models get suspension tweaks. The Porsche Active Suspension Management system has had its damping retuned; it’s optional on the Macan, and standard on the S and GTS.
The GTS gets standard sport air suspension, which is now more rigid – 10 per cent on the front axle and 15 per cent on the rear – and lowers the body by 10 millimetres. In addition to interior features, the optional GTS Sport Package also adds performance tires and Torque Vectoring Plus.
There’s good reason for all the upgrades. Porsche says it’s sold 600,000 copies of the Macan since it was introduced in 2014, and the majority of those customers are new to the brand. The Macan also has the highest proportion of female buyers among any of Porsche’s vehicles.
