Shalom!

Because I've recently returned to making videos (on my main profile), I also started producing little side-projects. This video is just one of the examples.

You may have not known this, but aside of racing games, I'm also a huge fan of Running With Scissors' "POSTAL" - both cheesy and controversial game franchise, where you complete a series of tasks and/or exterminate some virtual avatars along the way. However, being an aforementioned fan means that I must include all of the installments, not just second game which many people seem to fancy the most.

The first game, that started it all, told a (quasi) story of some Dude, who presumably was possesed by a demon and decided to go for a killing spree, cleansing the earth from human element (you know, the earth is hungry and it's also thirsty...). To me, it was an interesting interpretation of psychopath's mind if he went (as title suggests) postal. The visual imagery, along with eerie ambient and protagonist's diary sequences do really good job in depicting the dark, brutal, disturbing and ruthless atmosphere, thereby explaining well, what kind of sick and heartless being the protagonist is.

Aside of psychopathy and mental issues however, there is one more concept which almost everybody seems to miss. In my personal opinion, the theme of the game touches another crucial motive, that is misanthropy - a general dislike or even hate towards humankind. Combine this with what the game presents, you get an explosive mixture of uncontrolable hate and anger, where non-violent behavior doesn't seem to be an option at all. Despite the fact POSTAL doesn't focuse on misanthropy as the main driving force of Postal Dude's actions, the game does it nonetheless and does it definitelly better than HATRED is capable to its fullest. No edgyness, no emo, goth and any crap like that...

Having said that, these thoughts brought me to an idea depicted in this video. If you're familiar with heavy metal music (and thrash metal especially), you should be familiar with the band called SLAYER as well. The band, known for covering various themes in its songs' lyrics and sometimes controversial points of view of its members, produced couple of songs which focuse around hate and death synchronously and thereby, fit the game's atmosphere quite well. This is what this simple film represents - the game's dark theme combined with SLAYER's music.

Greetings to all POSTAL and SLAYER fans.
Big THANKS to people at "Running With Scissors".

Enjoy!
