The object of the game is to destroy Guardians in each "stage". However, they won't appear to fight you unless you enrage them by destroying Parasites. These Parasites are mostly found feeding energy off of large, dormant enemies. Once you destroy enough Parasites by filling up the bar at the bottom of the screen, the Guardian finally makes its appearance to fight you.

Game is being played on the normal difficulty setting in this video.
