PowKiddy RK2023 Is Practically Perfect | Retro Handheld In-Depth Review
237This is the RK2023; a 3.5” retro game emulation handheld from PowKiddy that has really taken me by surprise. After a string of underwhelming or straight up poor devices, PowKiddy announced this odd-looking little handheld, a spiritual successor to a 2020 handheld called the RK2020, on March 13th 2023.
The RK2023 comes with a 3.5” screen with a 4:3 aspect ratio display, a full dual-analog stick control layout with in-line shoulder buttons, a powerful CPU and an open-source Operating system.
With all this in mind, the RK2023 should offer some very decent emulation performance, with Saturn, Dreamcast, N64 and PSP all well within the realm of possibility, all within this very small, uniquely-designed handheld. With a $75 price tag, will this little handheld deliver on its potential? Will it rise above the common e-waste grade handhelds from PowKiddy? Let’s take a look!
