Pranesh had planned for a trip to Spain to play at the Elllobregat Open and then the Sunway Sitges. His visa did not arrive in time. That's the reason why he had to skip two events and could only play at the Rilton Cup. It was quite a big blow for the youngster because he needed 25 Elo points to reach his GM title and now he had only one tournament to achieve it. Going from 2475 to 2500 in one tournament is not at all easy.

But Pranesh is a boy filled with a lot of self confidence. He believed in himself that he could do it in one tournament and he did it. In spite of being the 22nd seed, he came out all guns blazing and managed to win the tournament with a score of 8.0/9 and a performance of 2775 Elo. That made Pranesh India's 79th GM.

The boy hails from humble backgrounds financially, but is extremely talented. A lot of people have played a role in him becoming a strong player. Get to know who those people are. How did Pranesh get stronger and move towards the GM title and we also analyze two of his games from the Rilton Cup 2022.
