Praying alone draws us closer to God, as our relationship and bond with him becomes stronger.
Satan can and does distract people from God, and even if someone will end up being saved, he likes to delay it as much as possible etc...
Our minds are often cluttered, and we are distracted and bombarded by many things in life, which is why our alone time with God is crucial.
Practicing this once or twice won't be enough, it needs to become a habit.
Also, we have to make sure we are praying about the right things, because if our prayers are outside of God's will, he won't answer them.
Other times, he answers our prayers but not in the way we might expect, sometimes he does at a later time too.
Praying with friends and family is also powerful, but praying in solitude has the effect of strengthening our personal relationship with God.
