Once again, I should note that any translations that I make shouldn't be taken as fact. I'm just relying on Google Translate to fumble my way to a guess that is probably far from accurate.

Who would be the best leader? I thought the story mode answered that question, but I guess not. They seemed to be getting along just fine before anyone decided to ask, though.

Like the subtitle implies, I don't get idol wars. I know that the discourse surrounding this Splatfest hasn't exactly been... _great,_ but I think it's important to remember that while negativity spreads around faster than positivity, it'll always die out faster than the positivity. Just think of any generation of Pokémon older than 10 years. The hate for them during their release was always loud, but are now remembered for all the good times people had with them. Of course, saying all that, this doesn't excuse people who were actually being toxic, explicitly targeting players of specific teams, and the like while playing. That's just not acceptable no matter how you slice it. It's a game about cartoon squids that paint the ground with ink, like, come on. As a side note, I know that that the Callie vs. Marie Splatfest also got pretty heated when that was going on as well. I never played Splatoon 1, but I just think it's interesting that it's the idol wars that seem to get everyone all riled up. I dunno, I generally don't really follow discourse about current events just because most of it tends to be "heat of the moment" rants more than anything else.

In terms of what I thought about the actual Splatfest, I had a lot of fun with it. It was kinda like how I felt about the Splatfests that happened early on, like Gear-Grub-Fun and Grass-Fire-Water. Plus the added chances of getting multiplier matches made things more exciting for me when they popped up, even if I _was_ panicking during all the 100x battles. It felt like just the right amount to add to keep things interesting for me. It's a shame I couldn't get to playing on Shipshape Cargo Co., but oh well. Next Splatfest, I guess. I still feel kinda ambivalent towards the Tricolour battles, though. I don't really know what it is about them, but they just don't really click with me, which is why I don't typically stick around with them for that long. But besides that, I had a lot of fun with this. I mean, this VOD wouldn't be almost 11 hours long if I didn't think it was fun, right?

As for the results, I am genuinely surprised how close everything was leading up to the final results, despite how far apart the popularity vote was. I'm also genuinely impressed that all my battles weren't all against one team. I guess they managed to improve matchmaking pretty well, so I gotta give them props for that. I guess I also can't really be too surprised about the results, since even though I can do really well during a Splatfest, the team I'm on will still end up in last place anyway. It's happened multiple times now. That's the power of averages when the player base is in the millions. I'm still happy with how I did, though. Any Splatfest where I have more wins than losses is a satisfying result for me.
