Want to learn how a historian approaches video games?

Are you thrilled by the intersection of academia and entertainment?

You've come to the right place.

In this stream our host Ventus, resident historian, will go in depth with the concept of "environmental storytelling" in the FPS: Metro 2033.
Based on the book of the same name by Russian author Dmitry Glukhovskey.

There is a good chance you already know, or think you know, what E.S entails. Chances are you're right.
Environmental Storytelling is one of many narrative tools used to deliver a game's story.
What sets E.S apart from other techniques is how indirect it is, how much you, the player, has to interpret the information given.
It is one of my favourite aspects to look out for when I crack open a cold one (new game).

Hope you find this interesting!
