Removing the foil of an LCD monitor (sometimes also called TFT monitor) yields a white image only after it's turned on, but using a sheet of linear polarizer foil and a cheap pair of cinema 3D glasses you can make yourself a privacy monitor. Takes about 15 to 20 minutes.
Note: To remove the foil from the screen you have to dismantle it. I recommend you buy an old and cheap monitor to experiment on first. Also note that the real image is still faintly visible without the glasses when you look at the screen from a very steep angle.
