155Pro Evolution Soccer 5 (Winning Eleven 9, abrégé PES 5) est un jeu de simulation de football sorti sur les consoles PlayStation 2, PSP et Xbox ainsi que sur PC.
Il met en scène les plus grandes équipes européennes et mondiales. Les joueurs et les actions de jeu sont d'un réalisme tel qu'on se croirait dans un stade.
Ce jeu possède un mode carrière (Nommée « Ligue des Masters ») qui permet de construire soi-même son équipe au fil des saisons, en achetant des nouveaux joueurs pendant les périodes de mercato (hiver et intersaison) avec l'argent gagné lors des rencontres victorieuses.
Ce dernier volet de la série PES dispose d'un mode online qui a renforcé un engouement déjà très important envers cette simulation de football. La PSP dispose elle d'un mode wifi ad-hoc qui permet de jouer contre un autre joueur.
Pro Evolution Soccer 5 a tiré son succès d'une jouabilité plus efficace que ses concurrents et qui permet un meilleur réalisme et une meilleure variété dans le jeu. Mais, ce jeu conserve, aux yeux des puristes, son principal défaut : l'absence de licence FIFA officielle. De ce fait, certains clubs et joueurs ne possèdent pas leur vrai nom dans le jeu mais un nom à consonance plus ou moins semblable, voire une anagramme. Ce petit hic (concernant également les fanions, logos...) est cependant de moins en moins présent au fil des années. Heureusement, de nombreux passionnés comblent ce manque et une multitude de patches viennent donner des couleurs à ce titre techniquement irréprochable. Ces modifications concernent les effectifs, les line-up (formations), les maillots, tout ce qui peut permettre à ce jeu d'être "graphiquement" plus réaliste.
La version PC est bien sûr la plus facile à modifier, mais ces patches existent aussi pour Playstation 2 ou Xbox. N'oublions pas un grand mode modifier, qui vous permettra de modifier les noms, maillots, et fanions pour rendre les équipes conformes à la réalité.

Pro Evolution Soccer 5 pulled his success in a more efficient gameplay than its competitors and allows a greater realism and better variety in the game, but this game keeps the eyes of purists, its main flaw. No official FIFA license. Therefore, some clubs and players do not have their real name in the game but a name sounding more or less similar, or even an anagram. This small problem (also on the flags, logos ...), however, is less and less present over the years. Fortunately, many people fill this gap and a multitude of patches just give color to this technically perfect title. These amendments concern staffing, line-up (training), the costumes, everything that can enable the game to be "graphically" more realistic.
The PC version is of course easier to modify, but these patches are also available for PlayStation 2 and Xbox. Do not forget a big change, a mode that change the names, jerseys and flags for teams conform to reality.
