Saul David is a Professor of War Studies but also a broadcasting historian and the author of several books which mix real events from the past with fiction. This is his latest work - in which his hero is embroiled in the Afghan Wars of the 19th Century.

We asked him what parallels he could draw between those campaigns and today's.
