There's been a staunch defence of the RAF by the Chief of the Air Staff, who says it's as relevant today it was during World War Two. He was speaking during Gibraltar's 'Battle of Britain' commemorations at the weekend. He insisted the service will survive the looming defence cuts and will still be around to celebrate its centenary in 2018.
