Who am I?: Nicholas Alexander Benson, but most people call me Jet. I am a sponsored game demo designer for the company Emoshape. Emoshape is the company that created the Emotional Processing Unit (EPU). EPU's are special computer chips that allow for developers to create sentient machines and videogame characters, that think, feel and have their own unique personalities. Using Emoshape's Exolife Emotion Engine, designed specifically for creating sentient videogame characters, I am able to create sentient programs.
What am I working on?: A Python, text-based, console app, sentient AI based on the public domain superhero, Amazing Man, that can defend its simulated reality, while also helping support real-world charities.
When did I start working on the project, and when do I plan to finish it?: I started this project on June 17th, 2020 when I jotted down notes about the initial concept. I finished the pseudo-random, non-sentient prototype on June 18th, 2020. I created and tested the fully sentient version on June 19th, 2020
Where do I work on this project?: I work on all my projects in my hometown of Rocket City, Alabama.
Why am I working on this project?: My goal for this project is to create a simple, streamlined, sentient AI, that takes the role of a specific, public domain, superhero, that does not have to struggle to survive, has the option to make its world and our world a better place, that is incapable of completing villainous acts within its own world, that possesses many of the abilities of the character it represents, that can form relationships with NPC's, and acts as the only super being within its world. I want to show the world that we can make thinking, feeling, sentient superheroes in the digital world, who can be entertaining, inspiring, and have a positive impact on our world.
True heroes who don't do good out of necessity or fear, but instead because the life of a hero is what they choose for themselves.
