Mechanics:
Character has a 4 hit basic combo with 4 charge attacks that are triggered after each combo
The 4 charge attacks have an extra combo string that applies a cross cut combo variable based on the charge used (1, 2, 3, 4)
Pressing the counter button will put the character in a counter stance where cross cut, a powerful counter attack will be triggered if an enemy attack lands. Based on the cross cut combo variable, the player will be able to chain cross cuts up to 4 times without having to be in counter stance.
Pressing the counter button again if cross cut hasn't been activated will trigger a counter dodge that can deflect incoming projectiles
Performing a cross cut will enable the player to enter whip mode which stuns enemies for a short time and adds an additional combo string to all charge attacks.
This additional combo string is a whip attack that places marks on the enemy based on the charge attack used.
Blade rush can then be activated to teleport to enemy absorbing marks and dealing massive damage.
Pressing the heavy attack button with 2 different marks will consume marks to unleash a powerful area clearing attack. Killing an enemy that has marks will grant you those mark buffs, letting you spam the heavy attack skill if you can chain marked kills together.
With 3 different marks, burst mode will be activated where a flurry of attacks can be performed.
Performing a Blade rush will remove whip mode which will need to be reactivated with cross cut
