Game Info:
VEIN is an upcoming multiplayer, open-world zombie survival sandbox game developed by Ramjet Studios for PC, currently available in Steam Early Access. The game is set in a post-apocalyptic world where the player is one of the last survivors, tasked with gathering supplies, exploring abandoned buildings, combating bandits and zombies, defending a home base, and rebuilding society with friends. The game features a dynamic environment where seasons change and persistent, long-scale random events affect gameplay. Its AI system is designed to react intelligently to the player's senses of sight, sound, and smell, with terrifying zombie variants adding to the challenge.
Players can customize their characters extensively, from appearance to stats, and interact with nearly every object in the environment, such as opening mailboxes or adjusting faucets. The game includes deep survival mechanics like farming, fishing, hunting, and crafting, as well as vehicle management with refueling, maintenance, and part upgrades. A fully simulated power grid and water system are also present. The playable area is currently around 4x4 kilometers, covering four towns and surrounding nature, with continuous expansion through updates.
The game's demo, which is the full game to date, is free to download and updated regularly. It is limited to a small region of the world and has a skill level cap of 75 instead of 100, but otherwise has no other restrictions. The development team, consisting of only two people, has been actively releasing updates, with version 0.016 released recently. While the game is praised for its detailed interactions and systems reminiscent of Project Zomboid, it is still considered a work in progress with placeholder assets, bugs, and ongoing development. The game is expected to continue evolving based on player feedback during Early Access.
